Really tough desicion! I've debated lately about switching after my first Z10 bricked. I phones are great but I just hate them. The os is dated and I hate the forced apple ecosystem thing. If iPhone had a bugger screen and more importantly a good battery I would do that. But in my research the best phone on the market right now is the Sony Z1. Sick. 2.3 quad core, 20mp camera, 3000ma battery, dust n waterproof, expandable mem, 1080 screen res, Amazing hardware. Android isn't my fav but that phone is amazing

I'd probably go for an iPhone. Simple OS, great app selection. I could ng handle an Android phone if I tried. Last time I had one, I really had no idea how to use it. Maybe I'm too dumb, or I don't have the patience to learn it, but I wouldn't go for it.
If I couldn't have my Z10, I would probably move to an HTC One, that phone looks badass. I hope it doesn't come to this, but I'd go top level android before I went back to an iPhone, there just anything special about iPhone anymore.
No BlackBerry? No phone. Simple.

I dint have a BB10 phone so I can't tell you what other OS is like it, but if I was to buy a phone that is not BB10 it would be Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I would probably go for the HTC One or an iPhone with a slight preference to the HTC

Nexus 7 2013 with Text+ will work for me.
Why quote the OP on the first reply?
I don't know that there is a single OS that is closest to BB10. I'd like to try a Windows phone since it's the only OS that I haven't tried long term, but I don't know that Verizon offers a really good "flagship" Windows8 device. In that case, I may have to try the HTC One, even though Android wasn't that great.
