    Someone forgot to tell the BlackBerry developers then. Automatic sets it up as POP3 , but if you use advanced, it shows Hotmail as a separate service and sets it up as active sync.

    Shouldn't automatic and advanced|Hotmail set up the account the same way? Well they don't.

    All depends on which server responds first when you do automatic set up that's why advanced is always better
