Download the correct OS for your phone model. extract it.

Back up your phone using link or sashesi tool.

Plug in your phone, run the autoloader and wait for it to finish.

You can restore if you would like, it leads to problems for some but not others.

Assuming you are on a server, like exchange where your contacts, email and calendars can be downloaded to your device, the best way to update is to do a clean install, back-up with Link, do a security wipe, do a clean install from the auto loader. There are a couple of files you might loose: Password Keeper, which now has a work around in the leaked version that FINALLY provides for a back-up import/export capability and you may also loose SMS and MMS histories. You can back-up sms and i think MMS with apps. The only business critical one for me has been Password keeper where i have over 100 unique passwords which would be truly painful to back up otherwise. YMMV, depends upon how you use your device.

When i first did my 1055 install i needed to do restore for my Settings to get Password Keeper data, the OS ran ok but was buggy and lagged in performance. Once the Password Keeper with independent restore functionality leak was released i re-built my phone and it runs much cleaner and faster... still a few glitches and some apps are still occasionally slow including some of the Android sideloads and unfortunately even some native apps...but these are leaks and one can't expect flawless performance.

If you want the most stable OS do a 10.2.0.XXXX install, but the 10.2.1.1055 leak provides the best feature set just not yet a the preformance level of 10.2.0. XXXX but the ability to cleanly load APK files raises the game of your blackberry to a level of functionality you won't get from 10.2.0.XXXX.

I have chosen to run 10.2.1.1055 but search everyday for a higher version which would provide greater stability for the core os and the highest level of Android runtime.

    Wait let me explain!
Step 1: download the os files!
Step2: take a backup as all files will be deleted!( take a backup of contacts as well)through link or sachesi
Step 3: plug in your phone and extract the files from the downloaded os!(you shouldn't turn off phone)
Step 4: open an. Exe file that you will find with the extracted files!
Step 5 don't let bblink open up when the installation process is going on as it will affect the process! Close lino completely then start the. Exe file.

The phone will now do its thing, no needs to worry as you can always restore phone if anything goes wrong!

    Hope I helped you!
