I've been a BlackBerry user and abuser for about 4 years. i absolutely love the brand.
when the Z10 was launched i wanted it badly. had yo wait a couple of months though. i bought mine in abril for about $600. it's been worth it.
my main concern is the following:
i understand the whole different carrier/country radio technology (EDGE, 3G, H, H+ and so on). in honduras we have up to H.
what i don't understand is the difference between the texas instruments and snapdragon processors and if in the long run will this affect OS updates and app update.
should i consider buying the STL-3? I'm pretty sure it will on my carriers 850Mhz.
that's the issue, no? the devices were carrier/country segmented.
I'd have to amazon buy it.
i reeeeeeeally don't understand why they made different versions. i understand that not all carriers have the same radio frequency technology, but by doing so, it kind of limits the phone if a carrier is to update their frequency. from 3G to 4G/LTE.
Buddy, I could he wrong, but even if you bought a -3 online, you'd still rely on your carrier for updates.. which you may never get, since you have a different phone than the one they tested with and approved.
I would not worry about not getting OS and App updates. It would be a terrible mistake and huge disaster for BlackBerry if they stopped supporting one version of the same product.
