...but instead I shot video of it for others to enjoy...so I thought.The first chunk, containing some key moments, was about 45 minutes in length. It was the first chunk and so I know I had plenty of memory.

The video stopped recording and I got an error saying something generic.

I assumed it just stopped but saved up to that point.

Uh nope. Video is gone. 45 minutes of Richard Marx up close live gone.

Update...

It is 4GB and is still on my device in device manager but not showing in Videos app.

When I try and open in it says that it is of an unsupported format. Wtf?

Either something went corrupt in the file OR BlackBerry 10 OS doesn't know its own limitations and cannot handle 4GB of video.

I don't remember having issue playing ripped movies on my z10 > 4gb. Did you try copying the file to your pc and playing it? If it still doesn't play since the file may be corrupt, you can always download a free repair tool to see if you can save the corrupted file.

One last question, was this saved to your SD card? If so, what file format was used on your SD card when it was formatted - FAT, FAT32, etc. (this may explain your 4G limitation) and also what's the speed of your card? Slower cards (< Class 10) have reported issues with keeping up on the transfer speeds from the handset to the card.
