Actually outside of the US, the English speaking world says zed, not just Canada.

Zed ultimately comes from the Greek zeta, but the path is via the Latin zeta and the French zde. It appears in English in the 15th century.

Zee appears in the latter half of the 17th century. Some early currency in England, but now pretty much restricted to the US.

So basically it's a zee10 in America but in Canada, and Britain (possibly the rest of the world) it would be a zed10.

I'm not an expert in language though I copy/pasted the first two points. Someone else probably knows more about which other countries say zed10.

I say Zed 10, my american friends say "Zee 10", they always tell me I'm wrong. I always protest my point (for about two months, my point was " I have the phone... You don't ")

When Brits say "Zee" we usually claim they have "Sesame street syndrome"

I have to say Lord Zedd (he spells it with two D's) is my favorite Power Rangers villain.

Just setup my wrist communicator ring tone on my ZEE ten.

But seriously guys, who gives a hootenanny if we call it the Zee, Zed, or Zeta?

I have a great phone powered by blackberry 10!

In the US it makes perfect sense to call it Zee-Ten. In the rest of the English speaking world it is Zed-10, in France Zed-Dix, in Germany Zett-Zehn, Zeta-Diez in Spanish speaking markets, and so forth...

Yes, the rest of the English speaking world do indeed pronounce the letter Z as Zed. I know it sounds funny to you guys in the US, but you gotta remember that the way you say it sounds funny to the rest of the English speaking world.

Personally it doesn't really matter how you pronounce your letter Z. There is no correct or wrong way. It is just country specific only. : )

Perhaps the female Z10s are Zetas and the male Z10s are Zed. And the ones that can't decide are Zeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Makes no sense other than it is the correct pronunciation in the english-speaking world, which obviously excludes america.

I would actually be quite surprised if the majority called it a z10 regardless of their pronunciation when things like my blackberry, my phone, my bb10 etc. are all far more likely to be used.
