Hi. Sorry if this has been asked already.
If the rumored OS update is lower than the leaked OS that we have been using will we be notified of the update? Or will we have to downgrade? How will we proceed?

If it's .1483 as rumoured, and you're running .1627 then ignore it... it's a poor downgrade.

Because 1483 is older and has been tested properly and has been deemed good enough to be released publicly. On the other hand 1627 is newer and may have stability issues, or may not have all the fixes that blackberry wants to include for that iteration of 10.1.

.1627 could also be what you might call a beta build for the next release (assumed 10.2)

Bug fixes from older OS builds are not removed from newer ones, they are added to... and .1627 is definitely not a beta 10.2 build.

Both builds have already been leaked. I've tried them, and found .1627 to be more stable and less buggy. I for one certainly won't be downgrading to .1483 when it's officially released by my carrier.

Thx for this. But my question has not been answered. If indeed it is a lower number will we even be notified of the release? And how will we go about getting it. Will we have to downgrade first then check for updates?

i just got a new z10 on monday,have always been using a blackberry and always changing to the new release ones.

found few things that does not exist on the Z10

1) you cant stop or clear incoming updates of your BBM contact profiles,in the previous you can stop incoming updates you can also delete or clear updates and you can also set how many number of updates you can see.

2) tones,in the previous blackberries you can set each tones for each of your email, example if you have 4 email addresses connected to your blackberry and you want different tones for your individual email to sound different from each other, you cant do it on Z1o but you can do it on all your previous devices.

3) Individual contact ringtone volumes,on the previous blackberry,we could set our desire volume for the particular contact or even set it to silent
