So no gorilla glass on the Z10, but how scratch resistant is the screen?

While it does not use Gorilla Glass, it uses something else similar. It's scratch resistant.

Gorilla glass 2 is far from scratch resistant. Z10 came out before gorilla glass 3 came out. So while it's still a type of scratch resistant glass it can still be scratched.

You're still better off getting a screen protector. Its easy to replace the screen protector when it gets scratched up than replacing the screen. Lol.

If you're worried about losing screen quality get those tempered glass protector. Glass to protect your glass.

Z10 isn't that scratch resistant. I recommend getting a screen protector asap.

Mine has been in my pocket and otherwise unprotected since launch day in the US and has no scratches on the screen at all. I have no protector on it.

It's decent enough that it hasn't scratched while in my pocket with keys and loose change. I did get a protector for the screen mainly due to this thing easily getting all smudged up from finger prints. The screen protector helped out a lot with the smudging.

Well I can say it is absolutely scratch resistant. I have had this z10 for 8 months and have no scratches on it.

I have no case or protection on the screen and it goes in my pocket all the time.

I'm around heavy equipment all day everyday and unit looks like new.

Its funny all the hype and complaints when people heard this about the gorilla glass.
Have had mine since release along with my little girl and despite her best efforts, bites, and drops not one scratch.

It's as scratch resistant as it is smudge resistant.

Weird how the comments are on both ends of the spectrum. I wouldn't chance it so I have a mirror screen protector.

I didn't have a screen protector in any of my legacy devices and never had a scratch. I somehow scratched my Z10. Really upset I was.
I now have a screen protector on my Z30.

Haven't you seen this? You might cringe when you see the abuse -but this shows how well the screen holds up.

Same here, I've had my Z10 since February without a screen protector and I have no visible scratches.

That's not to say a screen protector isn't warranted, I just don't like the feel of most of them.

The tempered glass protector has the same feel as if you didn't have a screen protector at all. Though it costs a little extra. It protects your phone better while keeping the screen quality.

I bought mine on day 1 and didn't want to take a chance since I found out it wasn't guerilla glass... i found this screen protector for about 12 bucks. The lifetime replacement sold me on it,. Aside from that, whatever scratches you do get on the protector eventually fade away.
