Hey, I don't currently have a black berry but I had the same issue. What worked for me was, removing the Facebook app, and reinstalling, but when you open it for the first time, don't choose to sync contacts. Might work but not sure!
Thank You but on BlackBerry Z 10, it doesn't even give you the option to sync contacts in the first place, if it does, one would simply not accept to it. Still, you still find your many Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIN friends on your contact ... once again, thank you.

Open your contacts and swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the "settings" and "help" icons. Then choose settings and you can toggle which accounts are listed in your master contacts list. I think it takes it a couple minutes to update, but it will remove all the twitter, facebook and linkedin contacts. Hope this helps.
Here is a screen shot in what nickcarraway is speaking about.

Upon reboot it defaults back to the original (toggle on) settings though, at least for me it does...

Same for me too. Very annoying.

Wow, getting results to issues that bothered me already on Day 1 of joining this forum! impressive

@Tjseaman Pls, which application did you use for the screen shot? Thanks
Posted via CB10
The Z10 itself. Hold the up and down volume keys. It will save to device camera folder.

I've had all of my social media contact settings set to off since the day I bought my z10. It still syncs random contacts via FB and Twitter. Very annoying!

@Tjseaman thanks again @alphacardserv what @Tjseaman recommended seems to work for me, they are gone right after I switched them off.

If you restart your phone, are they still off when it comes back on?

Nickcarraway deserves the credit as he posted prior to me. I simply provided a screen shot. But thanks and glad it worked out.

@Tjseaman lol, cool

Question is how often do you reboot? Had my phone since February 5th and did one manual reboot, so if I had to reset don't think that would matter to me.

Yeah it's not the biggest deal, luckily I don't have one of the devices that seems to reboot randomly. It's just more annoying then anything.

To the OP:
Although this works, don't be surprised to see this problem come back.
Also, your social media contacts unfortunately will all show up in the contacts setting of your phone app. Does anyone know how to fix this secondary issue?

Just to add to this......If you are on a BES 10 server it will save on the Work partition under pictures.
Some great info!! That's why I love this site.
I don't want to be one of those "It doesn't happen to me" types, but the contacts showing after a reboot/restart/battery died, doesn't happen to me. And there's thousands of them, so it definitely would stand out if it did.
