I don't need to know about wireless printing or sending things by email: just, for a relative novice, the simple question of is it possible, by connecting my boss's Z10 to my PC by cable, to locate and print out a series of texts?
If so, I'd be very grateful if someone could provide step-by-step guidance.
If I need to get an app to do this, what would you recommend?
Hi and welcome.
Well if you are going to cable the phone to your PC, go to the SD card and find the documents you want to print. Drag them to your PC and then open and print from there, no?

Many thanks for replying! I don't have the Z10 with me at the moment but I'm going to have to do this the minute the boss gets back to the office. Would you be able to clarify, in terms of what the 'SD card' is and how I'd find texts?
Simplest way I can think would be to share the text to email. Tap and press the text message then share icon then email from there. Email it to yourself and print from email.
Or take a screen shot, connect to PC and browse to camera folder. Print picture of text message.

Thanks for expressing this so simply and clearly, Steve - even I ought to be able to do that!

Agree, simplest way is to share to email and then print from there. Instead of printing off all the texts, it can of course be exported via an app and then saved electronically as well. I'm using an app called Exporter for that.

I doubt if you are going to be to locate text messages (SMS) in any recognizable format that can be opened on a PC but I would love to hear if different..
Looks like the share function will work for one text but what if you had a series of txt msg? Would you have to do this for every one of them? Or is there a way that you can same the entire stream of txt msgs? Just a thought

Not that I'm aware of. A series of screen shots might be easiest for that. Best would probably be some app - I'm sure there must be one or three that do this. I've never needed it so I don't know any to recommend.
Success! Many thanks to all - particularly Steve and mikr009878 : I used Exporter (which provides date/timestamp) to export the texts thread (which I could then easily file and print via BlackBerry Link), and then the screenshot as confirmation that the resulting file did come off a BlackBerry - i.e. I hadn't simply made the Exporter text up!

I use SMS backup manager. It converts texts to XML I believe. It should be easy to locate the backup on the SD card and email it to yourself and print what you need using Excel.

While XML has its purposes, presentation and readability isn't one of them of you are printing a copy of a chat.

The OP needs to "locate and print a series of texts" nothing was said regarding presentation. And imo using Excel to bring text to the larger screen of a computer doesn't present any readability issues. In fact, given Excel's zoom function, could you perhaps provide a superior alternative?
