To be honest, there weren't a lot of battery drain threads back then...they just weren't all the rage back in early Feb.
    This actually made me laugh

How much does having blackberry protect on affect your battery throughout a typical day? I've had it on since I got my Z10 and my battery goes down to 10% after ~14 hours. Would there really be much a difference if it was off? And I also heard that turning off gestures while locked will save battery life.

If bedside mode is supposed to be used while charging. Won't it be over charged? I sleep for almost 8 hours which means that will be 8 hours of charging as well.

    1) You don't have to use Bedside Mode whilst charging
    2) You cannot overcharge the battery

Mine drop about 5 - 7% per hour. I took off from the chager from 11pm, fully charged and at 6am next morning, it show only 78%. All connection are on, and I got only 10 emails.

dont be a d0uchebag, i was merely conducting a scientific survey. making sure everyone's phone is pretty much more or less on par with each other while we slumber.

Instead of whining and complaining, why dont you try to contribute a bit to the community with some constructive criticism?

Thanks for everyone who contributed, I got pretty much the answer I wanted. Couple more other methods I want to try this week: BT off; LTE off; gestures to unlock off; air plane mode all while I sleep

Update: so I did what one member suggested and that was to turn off bluetooth and bbm active frame overnight.

The result: lost 8% over 7 hours at night. That's 1.14%/hr, Which is the same as the day before when I had all those features on.

Conclusion: bluetooth and bbm active frame does not drain as much as you think.

Next thing I tried was turning off gestures to unlock.

The result: lost 10% over 9.5 hours at night. That's 1.05%/hr. But I received 3 messages on phone calls only mode.

Conclusion: doing simple calculations reveal that gestures to unlock drains an extra ~0.1% per hour. More if you play with it a lot.

Even with gestures off, I'm noticing the same rate of drain while I'm using the phone so gestures to unlock does not drain a whole lot. I realize this is not exactly accurate and could have flaws in many areas but it gives you a good idea.
    Next up is LTE testing.

Blue tooth drains battery. Better off keeping it off. Regardless of what they say blue tooth WILL drain

I can't test. Until I reload at least. Currently if I'm anywhere from 1 to 100% remaining, and I don't plug in. I'm dead within four to five hours with no active apps while asleep. Maybe I can get off my a** and finally try an reload tonight.

In my case battery drain depends on my location and on the WiFi.
AT home power consumption is almost 0. In my office I have 0.4 to 0.7 without usage and WiFi on, 0.1 to 0.2 with WiFi switched off. In the Screenshot I have WiFi on from 8:45 to 11:00.

I'm about 5-10% drain overnight.. but blue tooth, wifi, NFC and everything else is on. I don't really have a routine before bed. However, I wish I could set my phone to automatically turn everything off at midnight and go into sleep mode, and wake back up again at 7am like my old blackberry
