Z10 is till my daily driver, running 10.3.2 -- does what I need it to do (phone, text, email, web) and fits in my hand and pocket. I use it with the BB flip shell (several, by now -- they wear out), and have extra batteries which I charge in the combo cradle dock/battery charger, as well as with the flip-lid portable battery charger. Have a New-In-Box never-opened backup, just in case. Still use Link and (occasionally) Blend. Also have a Passport SE as a mini-tablet on wi-fi at home, or with the Z10 serving as hotspot. And a PlayBook.... and a Bold 9000. Serious work gets done on my laptop, though.

I've got a passport as a daily driver, but will switch out when charging to my Z10. Sometimes I just don't want to deal with the keyboard.

I bought the Z10 same time as my Z30 and Leap. I'm on AT&T and I carry two phones. The factory unlocked Z30 doesn't get LTE in most of AT&T land, and the Z10 battery sucked 3 years ago. The Leap has better performance overall and better size. Using a Z10 was the least useful of all three devices back then. Course, I'm the kind of user that feels things should just do it right outta the box. There's multiple reasons the Z10 was the most returned device in BB history and it almost killed the company.

Besides all devices are so old, they're dirt cheap. Why inconvenience yourself over spending $30 and getting a better performance. Specs don't mean $&@ in real life use...
z30 no signal? maybe the band At AND T uses? Leap better overall? joking right?

If specs don't mean anything in real life use, then what's the point manufacturers increasing specs? That doesn't even make any sense. You're reaching pretty hard. Everybody knows the Z10 is a better device than the Leap. The Leap's only advantage is its larger screen and, arguably, its design. The screen isn't even a better screen, it's just bigger. The Z10 actually has much better pixel density, which means sharper image quality. Anyway, like I said, you're reaching. Hard.

If one wants to use it on AT&T then only the Leap gets LTE; the AT&T Z30 was cancelled before release. That's reason enough to use the Leap over the Z30.

the initial comment make it seem like is a Z30 issue but it's an user error, according to them http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=850736 the official North American factory unlocked version sta100-1 fully supports AT AND T's band 2 and band 4 1700, 1900 LTE frequencies, sta100-5 partially compatible

    I'm holding one now.

The speaker volume and clarity of both the Z10 and the Q10 destroy that of the Leap and Classic.

They are both also far more portable and flexible on the charging side of things, since you never have to actually plug them in to provide a full battery of juice to them.

BB made a mistake moving away from these form factors.

-5 lacks only the rural 850 700 b c ... how could it be Z30's reception ? Z30's size...better, better processor, GPU, radio, what are we talking about here ? Z30, best phone ever, right ?

AT&T's main LTE band is 12/17 (the two are interoperable). The STA100-5 does not have 12 or 17, while the Leap STR100-2 has band 17.

Funny debate - between two devices based on 2012 hardware.

But if one is on AT&T, the Leap is a no-brainer.

Since you mentioned reception, the Leap, in the original case that brought up this comparison. Any phone in the four years after the Z30 was released has a shot as well, since those have more than a handful of LTE bands apiece.

Everywhere. It's the main band. Other bands are either not implemented yet or are support bands (carrier aggregation, capacity, etc).

This is a thread about the Z10 anyway.

There was nothing to that. Hence why it didn't go anywhere.

Every BlackBerry device since has had as good or better reception.

It was a technology that clearly did not achieve the results they had hoped for. Otherwise its use would be widespread.

I seriously doubt the Androids doing better wi fi and especially cell reception than on my Z10. as shown on other threads Z10 hardware's quality is superior to other models.

The Z10 is a 4 year old device (5 if you count when it started development). Much has been advanced in the years since.

I liked my Z10, and reception was great to be sure. But my current S8 is doing just as well, and gets HD voice as long as I'm talking to someone else with a compatible phone - like my wife on her iPhone 7 or my oldest son on his S8.
