Just curious: How much does it cost to buy a Q10 in India? And a Z10?

I'm asking because the rupee has been tumbling in value, and inflation is quite alarming for most items. I used to fill gas at 25 Rs./liter 15 years ago. Now, people would laugh at that price.

Am a BB user.

Z10 official price is now ₹29,900. At launch it was ₹42,000. You can get it for 28K. Not sure about Q10. Am sure you can check online.

And, i believe you on petrol prices few years back. When i started driving, it used to be ₹9/l. But that was 20years back when i started driving. We are now at ₹80/l of Petrol.

All I know is that they are decreasing in India. This quarter there was a decline in number of users thanks to hefty prices of the devices when launched. Many people who were waiting din't find them worth the price tag they had. But now since Z10 has had a significant price drop bringing it to the price it should have, people may buy more. I just hope they buy.

Online you can get it for about 36k. If you wannna buy from a retailer then you wont get for less than 41-42k.

Purvesh and aaakratish, thanks for the numbers. That is really expensive and I wonder if I would have purchased any smartphone at these prices.

Partly, my sense of sticker shock has to do with the fact that I'm stuck in the 90's as far as my view of prices is concerned. The purchasing power of people in the IT field has also increased dramatically over the years, so they might not think that cutting edge smartphones are out of reach.

If you look at my intro post on this forum, I had a lot of difficulties in getting the Z10. But I haven't seen a Z10 in the wild yet!

Recently, I was told that the Z10 resale value is far too low with some retailers offering a price of 15k to 20k depending on the condition of the phone! There seems to be too many used Z10's with the retailers, so that is the reason for the low price!

However at 29k for a new phone, this will surely catch few people!

No, Really I mean it. I would hate it if every one was running around with a Z10.

Count me in . I have only seen 2 Z10s other than me. One is of a friend who I managed to convince to buy one and other was in the wild who had a developer OS loaded (I could verify the version because he was changing batteries and had the PlayBook splash screen while booting up) .
A lot of people who have handled my phone ask me "BlackBerry ne bhi iPhone jaisa phone nikaal diya?"
I only manage a smile. It reminds me of the poor marketing efforts. Till date, newspapers carry advertisements of legacy devices which people are rarely interested in. SMH

This is happening with me often since I bought it. People think its an iphone but when they see its BB, they are surprised and more amazed with its style and resolution.

I bought Z10 on the launch here in India.

Speaking of marketing, it's been terrible and I think that's the trend throughout the globe. I heard about BlackBerry 10 only once on the radio last week when they dropped the prices, nothing on the TV
