Hi, I'm trying to make up my mind if I should wait for Blackberry Z10, I will be eligible for an upgrade soon. I saw many reviews and it seems like the camera features are very impressive. I was just wondering how many MP will the rear camera have?

8,000,000 pixels
8MP to be simpler.
That's a bit disappointing actually... Samsung Galaxy S4 will feature 13MP rear camera. I like the size of Z10 more though, 4.3-inch seems to be ideal... Can't decide... :S
13MP is absurd. My DSLR has 10MP, and it is not by any stretch of my imagination low-quality. The megapixel race is just a marketing thing, lens quality is what you should really be concerned about. But from the images we've seen taken by the Z10 so far, it seems to have some pretty high-quality glass.
It's all about lens quality and low light performance. The more MP, typically the worse the low-light gets. Of course, if you care about your picture quality, you should probably buy an actual camera, they will always be superior to the optics on a phone.
Megapixel smegapixel
There is a lot more to good pics than megapixels
So true!!!
Fancy yourself an armature photographer eh? What if we had said 20MP camera? Do you actually think that's what counts? I could take a million times better photo with a 6MP DSLR camera than you could ever take with the S4 (Which, 13MP is only a rumor at this point too BTW).
If my 9900 had a 13MP camera, I would never use it. EVER. The lens isn't good enough to make use of that much detail. Seriously don't base this on the MP of the camera. Compare the iPhone 4s and 5 photos. Same MP, better photo.
I just want good pictures. I hope im not dissapointed. Low light I dont really mind. I want amazing outdoor landscape pictures.
They'll be decent enough....:)
Ah the megapixel argument. Tell me, do you plan on printing your pictures on billboards? If not, then 8mp is plenty.
Here a couple picture i took with my old 8mp point and shoot
Dude, the S4 is only rumoured as far as I know.
Here, if you want, I can make a rumour.
The Z10 will have 21MP front and back facing camera's.
It also produces the same quality of picture, shown off on those 4K T.V's at CES.
What camera was that? Those are some very high quality images!
a canon a590 i bought in 2004
I heard that the s5 will be 20mp, z10 better have at least that to be competitive
lol, and here I thought the megapixel myth was busted a long time ago
megapixel doesn't make a picture better it just makes it bigger, my digi camera is 13MP and takes worse pics then my parents 8MP powershot canon. there is more to quality then how many pixels can be thrown out by the programing
The only time that MegaPixels=High Quality images is when the optics are good. If a picture is going to be printed (and enlarged) and sometimes even cropped and printed, the MP count is very important since the pixels per inch density matters when printing HQ stuff . Other than that, the optics are much more important. Keeping this solely on phone cameras, my 9780 with 3.2mp took much better close-up and general pictures than does my 9900 with 5mp camera.
Do you think the OP has got the point yet? ;)
LoL. Yea we did go overboard. Just a bit.
Even if Z10 only have 5MP, I will still get one! BB for live yo!
You know nothing about cameras, don't you?
Megapixels are just marketing, go and see a Nokia's Pure View photo and its "SUPER CAMERA" and then a photo with any 50 bucks camera, and tell me which one looks better at 100%
I will wait for you.
I think the 9780 also has a 5MP camera but i get what u were saying...
