How many contacts can I have on the Z10?
My Contacts in Outlook are about 25,000
can I synchronize 25,000 - is the memory in the Z 10 large enough?

If you don't mind me asking, how can you keep track of 25000 things/people
The contacts don't take that much memory in fact. About 1000 contacts transferred into CVS file is around 100K.
In terms of memory should be OK, the same time not sure if any limitations on the device.

Dude, seriously :0 how did you managed collecting 25K!! I don't believe I can do that my entire life.

With all do respect what a stupid question. The whole point of having an outlook account is to "Look up" contacts from a server whats the point of having 25.000 contacs on your phone?!?

Its a consulting business and I travel a lot
I use the BB Playbook, and have a gmail account which i synchronize with my outlook, contacts and calender
But the free version of Gmail does only allow 10,000 contact, and with the business version of Gmail no one at Google wants to give an answer
so if the Z10 would sinc my outlook's 25,000 I would be ok
I do not want to have a MS exchange account as its a one person business,
so in the meantime I still have to carry my laptop when I travel, which is annoying, specially on my international travels
and it still heavy
That's a lot of Xmas cards :D
Hosted exchange accounts aren't expensive, and you usually don't need to buy into multiple mailboxes
the problem is the change from a POP3 to an IMAP hosted exchange
the problem is when changing / switching to IMAP is does not copy you data very well, and not the attachents
I tried it with Google exchange
I would have to start with a complete new database
I've personally seen 30 000 contacts on a BB6 device and it worked. There is a chance that there could be a software bug in the Z10 preventing you from having so many contacts, but BlackBerry is aware that people have this many contacts and I imagine they would patch it if a bug was found.
That being said, corrupt contacts used to be the main cause of sync failures on the old devices and it's really annoying searching through huge logs to find the culprit. So if you have a problem, it could very well be unexpected data in a contact that is causing a problem rather than the number of contacts.
Thanks, good point
regards
Take a look at IntouchApp. We can easily support 25,000 contacts and sync it across devices for you. There are a few limitations currently: 1. On z10, some people get all their contacts and some do not - so your mileage may vary till we get an OS update from BB that fixes this. 2. We will support playbook once it gets the BB10 OS upgrade 3. We can only sync from outlook to the Z10 right now (using CSV export). If there is enough demand, we will work on an Outlook IntouchApp plugin.
Advantages of IntouchApp:
- Your contacts are always safely backed up along with change history for each contact on each device
- Changes made on one device are automatically synced across all your devices
- Contacts are always accessible online
