You can pull the menu from the top and press the bell perhaps?

You swipe dwon from the top of screen, when you see notification you tap on the right side of the icon (not on it) it then opens quickly the notification settings and then you have the choice of turning it to silence.
This is the quickest way I use before entering an exam.

It toggles your last Notification Profile.

    Not necessarily so...

It toggles your last choice of notification profile. So if your last selection was "Phone Calls Only", when you pull down and hit the bell, you will get "Phone Calls Only". If you switch to "Vibrate Only" from the notifications menu, the next time you pull down, "Vibrate Only" will be the new default. The same for any other profile -including "Silence". Either way, it will tell you alongside the bell what profile you are changing it to.

You could also just pull the shade down and put it in bedside mode.

This is by far the fastest way and you conserve battery.

    Bedside mode is good.

Silent mode works well too, but it takes an extra half a second and an extra tap to do.

I'm using 10.1, and I use the volume keys to control notification volume instead of media volume. just hold it down to go to vibrate only or silent.

Use FlipShush. Look it up in BlackBerry World. You'll need the pro version for what you want to do but the app itself is amazing. All you need to do is make sure it's running in an active frame and then just flip the phone screen down and it will be silenced completely. Flip it back face up and all of your notifications are restored.

I bought the app some time ago and still use it

That's kinda neat (although that's the good old apple mentality ) but all the other options are really not that difficult or time consuming.

Actually no. There?s in the setting of bedside mode, either to allow phone calls to come through in bedside mode or no
