I was wondering,

I have bought my Z10 'Simlock' free, but as we know, you'll get an update when you put in your simcard into the phone on behalf of your provider... Well that's what I got on my Z10...

Does it automatically means that you are dependable on your provider to wait for an update of your OS? Or how does the Update System in the BlackBerry Z10 work?

Yes, the Z10 updates are determined by the provider. Not blackberry. What OS is loaded on your phone? 10.0 or 10.1?

You should get the 10.1 update once you insert the sim.

The updates are carrier based though unfortunately

Yeah I thought so, but I can't find anything on the T-Mobile website about a released update for the Z10... So I think I have to wait for any news from them...

Try one of the 10.1 leaked versions, they work fine.
Tmo NL is very very slow pushing out updates, so why bother waiting...

Yeah I know... but I don't understand why BlackBerry pursues this way?

The only thing I got with the update is a ring tone and the sh*tty logo's...

But which 10.1 is best to get?

Basically the STL100-1 has a different processor (texas instruments) instead of the Qualcomm that stl100-2/3/4 have.

And the stl100-1 has the 3G quadband HSPA+ (850/900/1900/2100 MHz), but no 4G.
while the stl100-2 has 3G Tri-band HSPA+ (2100/850/900 MHz) and quadband 4G (1800/2600/900/800 MHz)
Stl100-3/4 are more for central america and the USA due to the LTE networks if I recall it all correctly (feel free to correct me though )

Don't know how it works for STL100-1, but works fine on my stl100-2.

Sachup is telling me the latest pushed by Tmobile NL for your device is 10.0.10.82, so you have the latest pushed out by the carrier.

So T-Mobile Netherlands told me that they already had the update to 10.1 on the other STL versions(?), but not for the STL100-1 because they never delivered that model. So I tried the Full OS to see where it's heading. I'm now on 10.1.0.2354 and will see what it's like.

What caught my eye, were all the updates for Facebook, Twitter etc. Also the HUB has some changes on behalf of the various apps like Whatsapp.

Feels quite fast to...
