    Hi, I would have thought this must be a relatively common problem but despite spending ages looking on this site, in google and Blackberry Link, I'm slowly going mad here!

    Can anyone please tell me how I can restore data I backed up using Blackberry Link from my now dead Z10 onto my new Z10 - obviously without the old phone! Apologies if I'm being thick.

    Any help appreciated, thanks!

    Use LINK with the Switch Device option to restore an older backup.

    Thanks for reply but Device Switch tells me I have to install it on my previous device, which is dead!

    First, the new Z10 must use the same BBID as your old Z10. Disable wifi.

    Open BlackBerry Link, connect the new Z10 to the PC via USB.

    Left menu of BB LINK will show the connected device... click it.

    You will see backup and restore. Click it.

    Click restore device. You can navigate to the desired backup file of you have multiple backups. Or does it not recognize the backups?

    Thanks Semime, much appreciated! I did as you said but unfortunately I don't get the option to "Backup and Restore". All I can see are "Switch Devices" and "Start using my device". The new device is listed as "connected" (and the now dead Z10 is also listed by the way).

    Semime, I clicked on "Start using my device" and was able to see the Restore option, so now AOK. Thanks again!
