I have tried this, but it doesn't seem to work. I get multiple Skype contacts in the Contacts app list regardless of the setting.

I had tried that, but Skype's name does not show up in the list. I have set the settings within the Skype app not to sync with the contacts, but regardless of any of the above, they get duplicated anyway. From what I have been seeing in the forums, this may be due to a big in the app.

Yes it is a bug. Even after turning off the settings to sync all contacts, these are populating in contacts.

Have you gone in and deleted all the duplicates after selecting the option to not sync contacts. That worked for me as I had the exact same problem.

Have tried that, but as soon as you use Skype, the contacts show again.

Yes. It's a major bug with the current version of Skype. There's a setting that claims it turns off contact syncing, but it doesn't quite work.
all contacts are duplicated not when the application is opened, but each time you log in.
This has become a huge problem to me, and made me decide to delete it until they update it. But with the way thinks are going, I don't think they'll be updating it in a long time.

It's kinda sad how it was announced that Skype was dedicated to BlackBerry 10, but it really doesn't show. It seems like they just uploaded an Android port and assumed everyone was fine with it.

Is there an easy way (other then completely wiping the device) to delete all these duplicating contacts.
-> I disabled all my others account (so they are no longer in the contact list)
-> Then from the setting menu, I delete all the local contact (which I personnaly dont use)
-> The Hide all my BBM contact from the list

---> But I still need to delete 1554 unwanted duplicated contacts generated by Skype
I know the select more option, but that's quite an intensive job to pick one by one every single unwanted contact.

    Any other options here ??

I just downloaded the official 10.2.1 which allowed me to install Skype from the Amazon app store (all directly, no side loading). This version of Skype may not be as smooth, but does not seem to duplicate the contacts. So, the problem is solved for now, although I would have preferred a fully functional native BB10.

Anyway, there are a few features in 10.2.1 that I love and have been waiting for, but I never expected downloading the android apk apps to be so useful. So far, 10.2.1 has been great!
