No widgets that's Android. You can sideload some Android apps that's about it.

And they need to be. Some similar functions with certain apps but if they were the same BlackBerry would be ridiculed for ripping off Android.

Headless apps, active frames... You guys are losing me with all the tech speak. All I want to do is put the current weather from the weather channel on my main page. Any ideas would be much appreciated

Hey, I was wondering the same thing, found out that widgets are substituted by active frames which are great, however, I wanted to see the temperature on my home screen, so from reading crackberry I got the app called 'Wallpaper Changer HD', an app which works with the app 'Z Theme'. It actually shows the temperature on screen along with battery percentage. Apparently they will be updating the app so that it can display more. Check it out!

Wallpaper Changer HD is a great app for weather and battery % as well. Also most weather apps including native one will give the temperature.

The 3 in my screen shot are BeWeather, Native weather app, and the weather channel app. The weather channel one doesn't have a real active frame though.

    They are nothing like widgets.
Headless apps are apps running in the background with no active frames. You won't see any information until you open the app.
Active frames are full apps minimised showing basic information, and you can maximise back into the full app and see fully up to date information there and then.
A widget is like an accessory to an app, it provides minimal information about an app but is not the app itself. They are two separate things. If you wanted to see more information you would have to open the app separately. Mist widgets act as a shortcut to an app and will open the app but the app itself will have to load and is not as instant as maximising an active frame. The delay is minimal to the point of being irrelevant for most users.

There is a clear difference between what active frames and widgets are. Both have their merits though as well as disadvantages.
As far as I know widgets are not coming to BlackBerry 10
