Hello Crackberry, I've had my Z10 for almost 16 days and I Love the device and all it can do but.. the battery issue is out of control. Example....for two days in a row, I purposely left home with a full charge and didn't use the phone at all while working, no data, phone calls or text. However on the 6th hour of my 8 hour day, my phone is down to 10%. I've checked my data to see how much had been used for email and notifications and it was 10 to 13mb. Why is it draining like this? I need help, any suggestions? Anything.

Ok that one is OK but 10.1.0.1720 is take you all day. you can download it here somewhere on the forum. There is a official rom here.

I play 1 hour mp3 - 20 minutes radio - 19 minutes combat 3 shooter game - some email ,whatsapp,BBM and did take some pictures and send them.. Still have 63% after 10 hours and I'm also on balance connected with a Bes 10.1 server. H#LL Yeh

O twitter and facebook are battery killers. So twitter RIP and facebook chance setting and stop sync messages.

I unplug mine @ 7 am and by 11:30pm its down to 10-20%.

The battery was really bad in the first week but after the upgrade and some time, its perfect

Screen brightness to half. vibrate off. close apps you aren't using. set screen time to 20 secs. wifi and Bluetooth off if not using. I get 2 days from one charge.

Okay, thanks, I'll look into installing a different Os version, I've already looked at the battery tips and performed those. Thanks for the tips and help

that has already mathematically been proven to be a scam elsewhere on crackberry. The battery reads that it has 5.25wh and 3.8v which is mathematically impossible to have a 2680mah battery with that wh and volts. It would have to have 10+wh to achieve 2680mah at 3.8v. according to the wh I think it is only about 1400mah, less than the oem battery. so with the conflicting numbers I would stay way away from it

Buying a new battery even with same capacity should help you, thats what I experienced anyway. Also remember to check 3rd party apps. I had Absolute Radio Running from my pocket with screen always on (standard setting)

Gestures during lock screen
Sending diagnostics

I got much better battery life after

How's LTE coverage in your area? I noticed that if coverage is bad and the phone keep jumping from HSPA to LTE, your battery will discharge much faster.

- Turn off Diagnostics
- Turn LTE off if it's not fully rolled out in your area
- Brightness to around 40-60%
- Bluetooth and NFC off when not in use
- upgrade to a newer OS


Turning off the swipe to unlock is sort of uncool since it's a great feature (to me at least) so I leave that on and I get more than a day on 4G/3G/2G

Use WIFI whenever possible. My battery lasts way longer when on WIFI as opposed to using LTE all day.

Also, if you are using an Active Sync email account with Exchange 2007 or lower, turn off tasks sync as its not supported anyway and I had an issue with that before 10.1.

I can get 8hours on one charge, but i will say with the LTE chip, its gonna drain... I'd say get the latest OS, get an extra battery pack, or atleast a portable charger... and wish for the best... hahaha no seriously it should get you 8hrs on average use so after you try the update let us know how it works for you
