Each time I backup my Z10 contacts, I get duplicates. How do I avoid this in future?

use a third party app like COntactsX. Then you can backup your contacts and reload without getting dupes.

I'd like to say that if you did not add any Contacts, then you would not get Duplicates. But I fear that the Contact app would still somehow create some just so it could duplicate them!!! (yes, that is sarcasm directed at the Contact app!)

That is BlackBerry OS bugs of duplicate contacts. The BlackBerry device on OS genuine are basic requirement and should without having such basic bugs. BlackBerry to fix the bugs.

Hmmm. Now that may just be the method. So many of us want to make sure that we have our contacts back on the device that we restore them. But maybe the SYNC process (with gmail or yahoo or whatever) does not "compute" the process and then it also "restores/resyncs" and we wind up with duplicates.

I sync mine with my outlook.com account. Each time I do an autoloader I never restore anything. All I do is add my outlook account back and like magic my contacts populate. I also turn off almost everything in the settings.

Automatically merge contacts - off
Unmerge - off
BBM contacts - off
BBm Video - off
Outlook - on
SIM - off
Search contacts online - not checked

Before I set these I got my contacts like I want them in outlook.com in a browser on my PC. Before I add the account back to my phone I do my settings in the contacts app and then add my account back.
