Hello, this may be old news to some, but alot of the posts only talk of the two finger swipe to hide the keyboard on the Z10. I discovered that a right to left swipe from the emoticon across the message box closes the keyboard.

I just tap on any blank space above the keyboard and BOOM! Gonzo!

FrankIAm, I am aware of those two options, I was just advising of another I discovered that seems quicker. The right to left swipe across the text box.

Wow this is my new favorite swipe. I always use the phone one handed and I don't like the tap nor holding the space bar. This is more elegant. Thanks!

What do you mean by message box? Is it always present?

This got me thinking. From a grid of apps screen, the two finger swipe from the bottom up brings up the keyboard. Why not enable universal search in this context? Right now typing in that case does nothing.

Holding the space bar & swiping down with two fingers is nice but just tapping on the screen above the keyboard is quickest for me.

I just wish the menu button (3 dots) would continue to be available while keyboard is visible as with the Q. Nothing major but still, c'mon maaan! That's bush! Lol

As I mentioned in another thread, my favorite unmentioned way to hide the KB, that works everywhere, even here on CB posts, is a press and hold in any white space in the text box. I was always frustrated by my impatience with how long the space key press and hold took, and the press and short hold in a NON text area (after or below the cursor) nearly instantly minimizes the keyboard.

Even if you don't want to reply, push reply to thread and test it out right now on on your Z10. It does pop out the right side menu but a quick tap makes it go away. Much quicker for one hand operation for me. I never wait long enough for the space key method and end up frustrated and with an extra space or two

By message box I mean the box where your typed text appears. Just to the left of the emoticon. A quick swipe to the left across this area closes the keyboard.
