I am currently using a S2 and wanting to upgrade, I do not have a high demand for phone features, decided to get a Z10 over s4 and iPhone due to the price. However my z10 is currently is still in the box, because I couldn't get the map to work in China and I sideloaded Google map on there however I can't log in, which makes it impossible to save locations.

I want to fall in love with BB again, my last BB was 8900 and I loved it. However the limited app selections on Z10 is keeping me from taking the Z10 out of the box. Anyone got a better solution for the map problem in China?

yeah and Skype also. Being in China is really hard for me to live without those 2 apps.

Best and fastest way is to update the phone to 10.2.1.1925 and then install "SNAP" which you can find here in the forums.

Then you can use your Google ID to simply install applications from Google Play like you did with your S2.

    - Skype can be downloaded in the blackberry app world

    - for Google maps, install 10.2.1 leak, then install snap and then get Google maps

He already stated he HAS side loaded Google maps. Did you read his entire post? He cannot sign in which even updating to the latest leak doesn't resolve. Plenty of posters here state the same thing.

Thanks for reading! =) I did the side load few weeks back and sadly the Z10 been sitting in the box. I will try to update the software now. Not being able to sign in to Google Map is not a deal killing for me as long as I can use Skype/Line/WeChat, but the map must work to an extend like show me what public transportation I need to take here. I can live without save locations for now..

I will keep an update on my BB experience on this side of the world!

I think there is some text skewed from translation. I'm assuming he meant he has reverted to his previous device.

If you update your OS to 10.2.1.1925, it's possible you will have better luck with a direct apk installation of the maps you want. It's worth a try, as I'm sure there's many other things you will like about the update.

Sorry didn't make it clear, few weeks ago I opened the Z10, side loaded few apps but wasn't too happy with the device. As in mainly no Google Map and Skype. I left it in the box for the past few weeks and decided to give it a try since I am learned about "Leak"

Currently trying to install Leak, but having problems with connecting the device to my WinXP on parallel.

Let me rewrite this, left it in the box as in took it out for few hours and put it back inside the box. Sorry for the confusion.

Ok now I am running into another problem ha! Things are never easy. Currently stuck at "
    [ Uploading RAM Image..... #####100##########]

Been stuck for 30-40mins, some posts I found on crackberry just said that it won't work on Win parallels. My roommates and I are all macbook users, so I will need to hunt someone with a PC down if I can't bypass it.

Ya it won't work if you are using a virtual desktop. Make sure when you find a windows computer that you download the "leak" again to that computer don't transfer via USB. When I was doing my first leak that's what I did and it kept getting stuck at different points. I thought the file might have been corrupted but when I downloaded again and transfered to the USB it kept freezing still. So instead I downloaded to the windows computer directly and it worked. Make sure you install the 1925 leak as well its very stable and most people here are very happy with it. Good luck

I've read that you need a program called bootcamp to run it on a mac. I don't know anything more about it as I've got a pc but I'm sure you can find some help in the forums. Good luck to you guppy.
