Is there a way to geolocate her phone? She's starting high school and has to travel a long distance using public transit, so the feature we had using her old iPhone was useful. She now has a Z10, though (as do I) and I'm not sure how to do this.

IIRC - BlackBerry protect had a feature to locate the device - you may want to check into that... i just dont remember if it made noise or actually shows location on a map...

dont get old!! you forget important stuff - lol

It does both actually. You can make your z10 scream or geolocate it on a map. Try it

BlackBerry protect will do that for you, make sure you have it enabled on your phone though. You will find it in your settings page under BlackBerry protect.

Protect is great. It has helped us find a lost BlackBerry (thrown away with the popcorn at a movie theater) and after that I always make sure I activate it on my BlackBerry and on my wife's.

I always make sure it's activated on my phone, I lost it once, logged in to BB protect website and BANG, I saw exactly where my phone was on the map, amazing!

Just dont let her see this thread, you know kids, the moment she finds out you are tracking her, she will most likely turn it off. I know I would out of spite.

Then you just go into http://protect.blackberry.com and you're all set. Just make sure you know her BB ID info because that's what you'll use to login.

it kind of works on wifi.. sort of. some of the time...
It is far less effective and way more tempermental over wifi.. I am currently using an old curve with no GPS and I can rarely get the location service to work on protect but every so often when the stars align just so and my phone has bounced off enough towers and enough routers, it will find me with a reasonably high degree of accuracy.
