    Hello. I need help. When I try to backup my z10 with blackberry link it says I should sign in on blackberry id on my phone. I did a security wipe and signed in on my BlackBerry id but it still won't backup. I'm out of ideas and need help.

    Pc. I tried restoring data from my bold 9790 but it only restored some of my data. This was when I bought the phone

    OK, I don't have a Z10 but thought I might be able to help. No help from me on trying to restore a backup from OS 7. Someone else will help soon.

    My recommendation:

    I think you may be having an issue with BB IDs. Your 9790 i assume has a blackberry ID. I am also highly assuming you are trying to assign the SAME BB ID to the Z10. I went thru this too. IT was painful.

    1) security wipe your Z10
    2) Assign your original BBID to your 9790. Basically, get back to the point when you bought the Z10. 9790 working, Z10 "in the box".
    3) Install BB Link
    4) Connect Z10 (with NO BBID assigned to it....yet)
    5)In BB Link, select "transfer data to a new device" or however it describes it.
    6)Follow the on-screen directions, and transfer the data from the 9790 to your Z10. Now, you may get a few nags that your Z10 "does not have an ID assoiated with it, etc., etc. Ignore that.
    7) When completed, verify that your data has transferred to your Z10.

    Now, here's the part you won't like:

    8) NOW, create a new BBID for your Z10, AFTER the data has transferred, via Z10 settings panel/window.

    9) Pull battery to reset Z10.

    9) NOW try a Z10 backup with BBLink and report back.

    I know, it's a new BBID and you will not have app history from your 9790 on BB World. Same thing happened to me. I never figured out how to get it all to transfer (App World stuff). I could NOT get the Z10 set up successfully without creating a new BBID. There may be a way to get there, but I couldn't figure that out.

    Hopefully this will get you moving in the right direction. This is what I had to do to get everything to line up. Hope this helps you.

    You don't need to pull the battery on the Z10.

    BlackBerry added a reboot option in BB10.

    Battery pulls are a thing if the past.

    Spent 3 hours with BlackBerry on this same issue with tech support did everything possible with my computer and phone ended up sending data logs to BlackBerry for their tech guys to go over.
    That was 2 weeks ago and their still looking into it. May have to wait for a link update

    I've so far encountered two situations where nothing short of a battery pull solved the problem.

    1. BB World appeared in Spanish. Repeated reboots didn't fix it; battery pull did.
    2. Z10 went dark and became utterly unresponsive. No buttons or swipes or long presses did anything. Battery pull got it going again.
