I noticed recently after updating to 10.1.0.4181. The phone heats up while using WhatsApp or Skype. Is this a normal thing? Also the battery drains quite fast during this course.

    Shed some light please. Thanks!

I'll wait for more responses as it doesn't make any sense to me that the phone heats up after an update.

I get home same problem when I'm using the phone aggressively ie using bbm, what app and listening to music and browsing the net at the same time.

Gets very hot and battery normal dies within about 4 hours.

My device heats up after an OS update and with moderate to heavy use, especially if it is a large app.

    This is normal.

As long as it eventually cools down after use, nothing to worry about.

I guess it is normal. Because most of people has said so, they're experienced the same, me included.

I found the same after a leak. I don't know if I didn't pay attention before or if it didn't happen. Currently it only heats up with 3d games.
WhatsApp is not heating up the phone for me. Could not test Skype, but this is at least more likely to.

Be quiet! I got scared the first time, but I've seen how hot and iPhone and a S3 gets the same. My Z10 gets hot most of all when I playing a game with 3D graphics such as Beach Buggy Blitz and some time with any not native app such as skype or Instagram, it's absolutely normal, enjoy with no worries at all!

Have you tried a reset after the update? Try that and see if the heating up continues..
