In the last couple of months not all the time but sporadically my phone will heat up when I'm surfing the Web or texting/emails. I changed my battery about half a year ago and I'm running 10.2 but before I changed the battery this never happened. Could you tell me why this is happening??? And if it's the battery why??? I cant see it being 10.2 as I didn't have this issue before. I want to keep this phone for much longer so rather solve the problem now.

    Thanks in advance

Why are you still on 10.2?

I just can't get myself to upgrade. I don't feel the z10 was made for 10.3

The determining factor is if it is you have the 100-1 or 4G model, if your shot is 1st you better stay in 10.2 and get accostumbrated to the heat which is something that ton of 100-1 have if not then upgrade to latest 10.3.3 build and everything Will be okay

Well then IIRC the 100-1 was the only with "Severe" heating problems, althrough the other models also suffer from a good chunk of heat is not as "strong" as 100-1, only thing you need is backup every of your files on some cloud, all your contacts on an email and install 10.3.3 via autoloader, you Will feel buttery smooth performance, I do a fresh install every month for having all things going good, recommended to you too bro, you Will have then a very good device capable of running Android apps in a proper way, at least it seems to be that way on my Q10 which, at least in specs, the same that your phone

While I would recommend updating to 10.3.3.2205 (or at least to 10.3.2.2813) with an autoloader, I'm not going to say it will fix your overheating issue.

EDIT: Just reread OP. If the overheating only started after changing the battery, it might be a defective battery.

Do you have another one, or know someone with one you could test with?
