My speakers blew out. First, the earpiece, could still use the speaker. Then the speaker. I'm a sprinkler fitter. My friend who has a gayphone said it happened to him. Metal shavings get in the phone, touch the magnet and and it blows. Went into Bell, they tested my phone. Shipped it off, two weeks later, fixed. You have a one year warranty. I suggest you use it.

    Official "Terms and conditions":
During the Warranty Period, the BlackBerry Hardware, or one or more of the BlackBerry Hardware components, will be repaired or replaced at RIMs option, without charge to YOU for either parts or labor.
They didn't HAVE to replace it with a new phone. The majority on this forum have gotten refurbs.
Typing quickly usually affects spelling, not grammar.
Who's RIM? There is no company named RIM.

That reminds me, mine is gone too, crackles and is hard to hear, so I must take mine into Bell to have it looked at. Likely send it away to be repaired, which is all right with me.

I had to do a security wipe on my Z10, and it fixed my ear speaker issue. However, it has slowly returned....any ideas on what this could be? I don't feel like doing security wipes every couple of months.
