I took advantage of the sale from BlackBerry so all I need now is the microsim from my carrier, AT&T, is that correct? Will they need to "activate" the phone?

Go to your carrier, and have them activate a new sim for you. That's all
Sounds about right. If you haven't used bb10 before, I highly recommend you install one of the 10.2 or 10.2.1 leaks, if the official 10.2 OS is not available in your area yet. I think you'll like your phone much more that way. IMHO

Thanks for the responses. Yes, I plan on installing 10.2.1.1055. I just need to phone down long enough to make back a back up. :)
Backup any information you need on your memory card or somewhere where you can just move it over after installing the leak, because installing backup app data has caused problems for a lot of people, me included. Just be patient with letting the leak settle into the phone and do a hard restart if things seem a little wonky after installing the leak. That has worked for me.

Brand New phone is the best time to load 10.2.1. I wouldn't even set it up fully and start from scratch.
