Try an official version, I've noticed a huge improvement with 10.2 on moderate to heavy use. Now with moderate use I can make it through a full day from 7:00 AM To 10:00 PM and still have 20% battery left.

With heavier use I have to charge the phone sometime around 3:00 PM to ensure I have enough juice for my bus ride from work to home. Even then I'm putting the phone on the charger around 40% battery life remaining.

I'd say your Battery might be defective or something is causing your battery to drain faster then normal. Download Battery Guru and make note of your power output during the phone being idol. Also and this is just a suggestion. If your a heavy user day in day out, you might want to look into BlackBerry charging bundle or one of these 3800mAH extended life batteries

I don't have any problems charging. But I can easily kill the battery in 2-3 hours heavy (no screen shut down) use. I charge numerous times a day. Its consistent. I also use a PlayBook charger and not stock. PlayBook charger is a rapid charger for the Z.

Do me a favor. Download this task manager and compare it to the picture below.




What is running that doesn't need to. Kill any other processes on screen and see what happens with your battery. Leave it as an active frame and monitor it for a reason for your problem. I'm not saying you don't have any battery problem, but there may be another reason.

If you continue to have such a bad battery life... I recommend you should send it to RMA.
I had a playbook which developed a similar issue and got it replaced. No issues.. I was told it was an issue with the motherboard.

Are you using the ebay app? That might be doing it. When the first ebay app came out it would suck dry the battery before you could blink. It did receive an update but I think it still sucks. I just bookmark the site and use the website.

No the eBay app is good now after the last update and that issue only occurred when you actually logged into the application with a user account.

I use the app all the time now.

I am also experiencing higher battery drain, but only recently. After having updated to 10.2 (OTA) battery life has greatly improved.

But recently I have bigger battery drain than before. I checked the task manager and Flipboard was active which I never used. So I deleted this app. Nonetheless, battery drain is still higher than before. I have also a Q10 and comparing those two side by side the Z10 is consistently approx 3 degrees C warmer than the Q. No idea now where this is coming from. I don't want to factory reset the phone.

If you are leaving those apps running in active frames and their update settings are frequent, you could very well be killing your battery. You might change your update settings to less frequent and close apps when they are not in use. If you stay logged in to Skype, that is a real battery killer as well. Just closing the app doesn't log you out, if I remember correctly. You have to manually log out.

I haven't y active fees running but my charging process is taking a fair while.

It used to fully charge in about 30 minutes or so, now it's taking its time, much longer...

I have had the z10 since the Canadian Launch. for the first 5 months I had horrible battery life, and had to recharge 2 to 3 times a day with light to moderate use. Then around June an OS update seemed to turn it around and I suddenly was getting 24-36 hours with the same usage. I was happy.

Unfortunately, the 10.2.1791 OS update has brought me full circle back to getting 4-6 hours with the same usage.

Very frustrating. Using Battery Guru it seems the power during idle is about 40% higher than it was before 10.2 but nothing is running. But the real culprit is making calls or using data services. (on Telus 3G - 5 Bars all the time)

We have three of these at work. Two of us now have the bad battery problem, while the 3rd person does not. Maybe it has something to do with the dog's breakfast of random parts in various Z10 production runs??? It makes no sense that we had no problems with 10.0 and 10.1, but now 2 out of 3 have battery life problems with 10.2.

I'm on like hour 34 of battery life right now with moderate use. I had it on charge for about 15 min while loading movies on to watch but it is still going strong... I'm at 35% battery life right now. Right after 10.3 for about a week the battery life was awful but now it seems to draw wayyy less when sitting idol according to battery guru. Not sure what changed but I'm liking it!

Please help. Somebody here know how to calibrating the z10 battery coz mine never reaching below 20 % again after update to leaked 10.2.0.1791..when battery reach 25-30% my z10 suddenly off..i can't turn it on unless I connected to charger..please help!!
