As far as I can tell Google contacts are only synced one way.. anyone figured out how to set it up so that you can make changes to your Google contacts directly on the phone and have it updated?

How do you have them setup? If you use CardDAV or ActiveSync they should sync both ways just fine.

I have the same problem, the problem is, when I go to add a contact, there is no option to choose which Gmail account to associate it with.
So I guess it saves it locally on the BlackBerry only.
I'm using ActiveSync.

I just set up my account along with my Gmail. It should be carddav. It pulls the data from Google but when I add new numbers to existing contacts on my phone it's not reflected on the cloud.

If you are in the contact list you can swipe right like you do for the hub

Choose your account there and then add. That should work.

Oh weird. Changes are showing up now. Maybe it's cause I was checking on my nexus 7 and something was wrong there..
