After 2 weeks in love with the Z10, I am sadly departing it due to the lack of custom email notification. I played with all the leaked builds and none of them allow me to create profiles or customize email alerts specific to sender or subject. 10.1 does have email notification, but just standard for all emails (unless I missed something)

    Why this feature is critical?
I do Unix systems administrator. I want to be alerted if something went wrong with the systems. Yes, I've had almost all BlackBerry models since the 8700 and love them all.

Oh well, I'll put the z10 in the drawer and hopefully BlackBerry brings back the old legacy notification features soon.

I am glad you also gave up right before headless apps
heaven forbid that the headless apps would make this possible.

Shouldn't need apps for a feature that can be built into the os... just saying

10.1 has had separate notification options for each email account for quite a few of the leaked builds now. Go to Settings > Notifications > Email Messages. It'll allow you customize alerts for each of your individual email accounts there.

However, if you need them to be sorted by Sender or Subject, then yes, you'll need a third-party solution like Hub++ or BeBuzz Pro. Now, granted, it's not a perfect solution, but if you love the phone so much, it seems like a small price to pay in my opinion. Headless apps are right around the corner too, so you won't have to waste an Active Frame on these apps for much longer.

Hub++ allows for custom email notification through the use of filters. Yes you have to have it as an active frame at all times and yes you have to pay $2.99 for it, but if that's not worth it to keep your sexy z10...

Well given that you never asked for advice given that 3rd party support is now available and official support in 10.1, I'll have to say that you're really looking for an excuse to get rid of it. Good luck with your future phone, I would recommend an i5 or S4, HTC isn't great on updates or customer service.

I like how the legacy bb's also allowed you to change the volume alerts on each individual accounts. I always prefer to keep my personal email to be in lower volume than my work email when I'm at work.

Sounds like a solution. Stop beating this guy up now people. He had a legitimate issue and got a solution. I too hope a future update addressed this within the BBOS, until then, a third party app can help.

The phrase "beat up" is hyperbole. Like others. I wondered why the OP did not ask for probable solutions instead of the potentially volatile returning my phone post. I don't see where any one was "beating" him up.

I think it is more a matter of what is tested what is not.
I am sure in the long run a lot if these options will make it back into the OS.

I hope BB starts to hire back some talent to get more new code written and things back like some people needs it. Whatever is worth it.

Hopefully managment is reading this and doing this once the Q10 gets launched. Public has little excuses anymore and the SAME WILL BE TRUE FOR BB very soon!

Very legitimate reasons. I have 12 email accounts and desperately miss custom notifications and colors for each account. Will check hub++ but a definite ball drop for Bbry

I just don't get how people buy a $600 device and find silly reasons to give up on it so quickly.

Too much money. First World problems. Etc etc.

Part of the problem could be people quickly giving up on as yet undeveloped OS, then again another part of the problem may be others willingness to quickly brand another's reasons for giving up, as "Silly."
