ok..ok... not sure if i somehow missed this.
i was placing a delivery order and noticed that the email came right through to my z10...and its on a 15 min sync. i went into settings and noticed that the button "push if supported" was on.

sooooo..... i turned my sync interval to manual, save the setting and then sent myself a test email and it came through instantly, legacy bb style instant...

using gmail

I'm pretty sure turning on Push will automatically set the sync to manual.

If the push setting is on, the email is pushed to the device more or less instantly. The sync interval applies to other email operations: deletions and moving mail to and from folders.

You get the mail instantly but if you then delete or file it, it may take up to 15 minutes, or whatever you have your sync interval set to, for the change to show up on the server. Or if you delete or file it on the server, it may take a while for the change to show up on the Z10. But mail delivery is instant, if "push" is on.

The setting implies its only "Sync" if push isn't available. Gmail is push though I've had it set up since day 1 as such.

I have found that personal emails come through right away but others don't, for example red box emails and confirmation emails take a while to arrive but personal ones arrive instantly, it's no big deal for me but I was just curious to know why that happens

Mine come through just like personal emails. I would try deleting and re adding the email or a reset. That shouldn't happen
