When I try to sign in my gmail account into my BlackBerry Z10 it can't add my contacts which is added to that gmail. On the contrary it shows a message which is "At this time your contacts account can't be added. Please try again later." I'm just tired of seeing this. Is there any solution for this?

First, remove the existing contacts account, then go to your Google account and ensure 2FA is disabled and also make sure the so called "allow less secure apps" is enabled.

    Now follow these instructions carefully:

    1. Go to Accounts.

    2. Select Add Account.

    3. Select Advanced at the bottom of the screen.

    4. Tap CardDav.

    5. Enter whatever you like for a description, and your Gmail e-mail address for username and e-mail address. Enter your Gmail password for the password.

    6. For the Server Address, enter the following:

    https://www.googleapis.com/.well-known/carddav

You might also need to sign out of Google from the browser to make this work.

The suspicion is Google deprecated a URL, but in any case this method is confirmed to work for contacts.

If this concerns anyone, I do hope they won't change their settings.
However, if they want to add their contacts account to BB10 device then this is the procedure to follow.

2 factor authentication in 2019 is a must anymore IMO. I know most many services dont use it but if they do its critical IMO to enable it. The world is a scary place these days.

    Especially for my Google Account.

It contains all of my passwords, email, and a great deal of other information.

Thank you very much for the Server Address you provided, I can finally sync my contacts.
And I found a way to avoid disabling 2FA. You just need to open the following URL to generate an App passwords for your account, then use the generated password to log in:
    https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords

Or you can find this settings in the Security settings of your Google account.

Nice find obhasqr! You can often get around 2FA issues by generating app passwords, but I wasn't aware it would work with the new Google contact sync process. Well done!

I tried all the suggestions above and none work on my t-mobile Z10 ST100-3 OS 10.2...,

the https://www.googleapis.com/.well-known/carddav method says "... cannot be authenticated with your service provider. "

the https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords says " The setting you are looking for is not available for your account"

I don't have 2 step verification enabled and I turned on "Less secure app access"

all my contacts synced OK on my Z30

    Thank you all

I found a much more detailed way to do this in post https://forums.crackberry.com/blackb...l#post13382185

I didn't have the time to perform this whole set of iterations yet, and it seems like it's probably got the best chance of solving this problem I hope.

"You have to first add your account normally, but do not select contacts, just email and calendar. Let it add.
then go to again add account>advanced>carddav.
Then give your details and use the same server address as mentioned "https://www.googleapis.com/.well-known/carddav".

After weeks of struggle and losing the hopes entirely. I can confirm it works now.

as soon as you will add CardDav, the contacts syncing will also add in the previously added account where we did not selected "contacts to sync".

in the google settings, I had removed Blackberry hub + services from third party access and then again added it while adding the account. And also allowed access to less secure apps. Now my contacts are syncing."

Weirdly, the .well-known address is not working for me on my Passport. I found another one at stackoverflow:

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...ts-carddav-url

    Ie I used https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v.../lists/default

    and it worked.

    Yes, this is the address:

    https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v.../lists/default

But you will need to replace the "YOUR" with the prefix of your own Gmail address - no spaces.

    The actual server address is

    Without the ''

Using 2 step authentication and app password for the carddav I was able to get the contacts synced without jeopardizing security

    Hey Nihal,

Let's double-check these steps one at a time. First of all, do you have "allow less secure apps" enabled in your Google account?
