    I use Google apps for business and am getting the same problem with contacts on my PlayBook right now. Everything's working fine on my Z10 though

    Apologies, I'm using a Z10. Maybe GMAIL is just being funky because now it's no longer giving me login errors in my HUB. Not sure will post with updates accordingly.

    Same here. I'm guessing the PB update broke my Gmail contacts, saying the password is wrong. I tried deleting everything and added them again, and the email and calendar worked fine but the contacts keeps saying password is wrong. And I'm adding it as CalDav account.

    I had the same on my PlayBook and I thought it was the update. Then I looked at my Z10 and saw issues with Google accounts not being active. I deleted and added the Google accounts back to my Z10, but I can't get the Carddav to work....getting the same message as the OP.

    Yup now my Z10 is doing the same thing

    I got an error message saying "there is no RPC service named account.... "

    Sigh, this happened a couple of weeks ago and I had to add the Google contacts back again and go through the hassle of linking the contacts that didn't link automatically. I'm now exporting my Google contacts as a CSV file into my Live account, hoping that's more reliable. Interestingly, while doing this I was able to finally add my Google Carddav account to my Z10, but it doesn't download any contacts. I will advise on the outcome for me.

    Hasn't stopped for me. The email and calendar appear fine, but the CardDav doesn't log in. Same for Z10 and Playbook

    since yesterdays update, my gmail email and contacts and calendar no longer accept my password (password IS correct!)

    plus many websites wont open as OPENDNS states they are phishing sites which they most defintely are not

    How can I back out this useless buggy update?

    Z10 still not working thus morning for contacts. I can't set up Carddav. When I do it displays a message the account can't be authenticated with my service provider. Last night Google blocked anymore login attempts and sent an email saying where the login attempts where coming from; they were from a BlackBerry site (probably servers) in Jakarta, Indonesia. Even after allowing this location for logging in, it still doesn't work for Carddav. Could this be the issue; a switch in server locations by BlackBerry?

    Funny problem...Today only the Google contacts said it has authentication problem with the cardDAV...I tried configuring it did not accept my gmail credentials...I deleted my Gmail contacts and added it again and put my sync interval to 5 mins...for the past 3 hours my Gmail contacts are not showing up....somebody help!

    got my gmail and calendar back by deleting the gmail account from my playbook and adding it back

    contacts all lost and wont sync so basically I am left with a brick.

    Why release firmware updates that cause all these problems?

    Same problem for me. Read on another thread:
    "Starting on 3/31, Google changed the contacts API to redirect all http requests to https".

    I expect something like this to be a big deal as surely all non-Android mobile platforms use carddav.

    I just posted to another thread about this. Taking the suggestion of another user, I added Google using the email, calendar and contacts option for new accounts, and didn't use the advanced settings and carddav at all; just put in my Google email, and then it went to the. Google page for me to sign in, and then it displayed the option to sync email, calendar, and contacts. It's now working in that my contacts for Google are appearing in the Contacts app again.

    Yeah and the one BIG drawback to not using the 'advanced' setup is that you can't have all your emails synched up. By default you only get the last 30 days' worth in your inbox and that is CRAP.

    I set up the Gmail and caldav separately, since they were working, and only used the combined method of setting up an account for contacts. I had my Gmail set to sync email forever and it still seems to be doing that.
