At a recent visitation I attended, sat four early teens fooling with their iPhone. They didn't know what I was about to show them, but when they saw the device and the ease of navigation, well they put their phones away.

It's kind of disrespectful to be using your phone at all in that kind of situation, isn't it? Here you are mourning/celebrating the death of somebody and people are playing games or whatnot on their phones.

True, but you haven't really given him much to go on, wouldn't have say? When I read the title and then the OP, I thought you connected your device to a projector via HDMI and gave a presentation on the dearly departed.

While I am a fan of showing off my device, I'm not sure if I would show it off at that time. That's my opinion only.

If I died, I'd want people to be able to be on their phones during my funeral or memorial.

That's what I loved doing while I was alive, and anyone at my funeral would know that

Yep. Just love it when you're talking to somebody and they open their phone and start BBMing somebody across the room. Just LOVE it! It is SO respectful.

Daily life. Because some other live person has taken their phone number, as well as their identity.

    "Open" their phone?

Speaking of funerals, flip phones and any phones that had to be opened died a long time ago.

SO respectful of you to have forgotten that.

In all seriousness, were you being sarcastic in that comment I replied to?

I thought afterwards when I reread what I posted that somebody was going to comment on that.

Open, take out, unlock, use--they're all the same thing. Just like we say we dial a phone number, even though most of us have never used a rotary phone in our life (actually, I have--have one at home, but it hasn't been used for the last few years).

It would have been a great presentation if you hooked up the Z10 via HDMI to the screen ... I bet those iPhone users would be amazed ... At least you would be doing a good deed to the dead and show off your phone...

There are still people who come here and post about why they're leaving BlackBerry, to tell everyone goodbye.

I wonder how many people in this thread would still be up in arms had the OP said that they used their Z10 to show something that they had made in Story Maker, like an In Memoriam slideshow for the person set to music, displayed using HDMI or something.

I'm always curious to see where exactly people in these forums draw the line, and when they decide to call the morality police.
