How bizarre! Here is a nice way to test, point your front facing camera at some text, if it's actually mirroring then the image will be backwards. Take a pic and post it up if it's true. I just tested and mine is fine, but I'm using the older face detecting camera app.

Makes sense that it might work that way everywhere. Makes it like looking in a mirror. But why not have an option to flip it? At least in the edit photo mode...

It is physics... You look into a mirror and see that what you see on your screen "before" you snap the shot. When the photo is made, it is mirrored... Naturally!
Have you turned your head behind you? Look... is the scenary behind you correct? It is always like a 3rd person's view! It is as if someone has taken the picture of you with his phone, by using his back camera...
Everythings's okay, guys! As I said, turn your head and look to the Background... ;-)

Never notice that before. Held a label up and it was written backwards.

I can't see this being a big fix that Blackberry couldn't do and give us an option for it in the menu. Hopefully they read this and push a quick fix out through BBW. Would be great if they could include the face detect as well.

I'm using the camera from 1259 with the face detect and it still does the mirroring..

The live view is mirrored but the actual picture is normal (not mirrored). I'm on the stock VZ 2.1 Os.

The live picture is mirrored, because that is the way we're accustomed to see ourselves. Having a normal, live picture in front camera would create confusion in the transmission of the sensations to our brain. Naturally the front camera will print a normal picture.

Just tried on my iPhone 5s. Image is NOT mirror image. Snapped photo of text and it's correct.

It's a mirror image in the viewfinder before you snap it but it's reversed to correct when you look at the camera roll.

You can, edit > crop > swipe to right > horizontal mirror

As has already been correctly pointed out (I almost never used the front camera), the image on the screen as you take the shot (viewfinder) is mirrored, but the taken photo is correct! Any other way would make taking selfies and video chats difficult because you'd have to move opposite to what is "normal" when looking at yourself in a mirror...so the mirror image is best when composing the view.

There us nothing wrong here! False alarm.

Write sth on a paper and take a picture of it with both front and rear cam... They are the same!!!
There is no error... It is the brain that looks like in the mirror... so take your picture with front cam and it will be the view an observer has!
Look at the wall behind you after turning the head and look to it trough a mirror... that's the same thing!!
There is no error with the front camera!!!

Absolutely right, the camera images are reversed but when you take the picture it's fine. Could one of the mod's rename the title? It sounds like it's taking pictures mirrored not just mirrored on the screen.

Okay, using the camera app that came with 10.2.1.1925, I just took a front camera picture of my computer keyboard. It is CORRECT when I open the picture.

My problem with the camera is that there's a difference between the two landscape positions (and between the two Portrait positions). Ports Up and Ports Down (Landscape) will result in an upsidedown picture for one or the other (don't recall right now).
