Long story short, I've ordered an unlock code from an ebay seller, I input the code and it says it's successful, but then it just goes back to the option to "Unlock network" it works with my Fido sim card, but when I insert my girlfriends Mobilicity card it says "Network locked ", I'm down to 5 attempts and the ebay seller has agreed to refund, what do I do? I'm afraid others will give me the same code

This question has popped up a number of times. Here is a thread that discusses it and, in post #6, I provide a link to an earlier discussion on the subject. Check these out and I believe the info there will provide a solution.

Couldn't find anything useful in there, from what I gathered a lot of people never resolved that issue, there is something about a universal blackerry unlock database, but there was no links there

The OP in the thread linked to in post #6 did get it resolved, see posts 37 & 39, maybe pm that OP to see who he dealt with.

    Try 8.

I called Fido & was willing to pay 50$ to unlock the phone; before she gave me the code I read to her my code that I ordered off ebay & she said it was the same; I told her that the code won't work so don't bother. She then called Blackberry for me to resolve the issue & they said they had no responsibility once the code was given. Not sure what to do; my code is only 8 digits; wasn't given 16 from Ebay or Fido

I've entered it without the sim, with the alien sim & my own, either way it shouldn't make a difference

Fido is supposed to be 8 digits. BTW, just be sure you are giving them the correct IMEI *#06# on dialer.

Did you check that all 3 networks are unlocked? Or the other two rather

All I can say is that my Z10 from Telus required a 16 digit code
I got it from a friend who worked in BB, so I'm not sure how that would differ

What I would do in your place, is contact three or four top rated unlock guys, send them an email describing your dilemma and include the code you have been given which does not work. On the other hand, if this is a branded phone, then Fido really needs to work harder at a resolution.

Absolutely the only thing is that if it's a contract phone they don't have to for three months but after that they have no choice if u ask they must unlock
