So I bought this 4500mah battery for my Zoff ebay some months back. Was quite good when I used it. But my Z10 spoilt (not the battery) . So the battery was left to lie idle. Got a new z10 few days ago. And I tried it now. Gives me "cancelled battery " icon. Anybody know a fix for this.? Hate to lose this battery

Are you saying the extended battery is not holding a charge??

It appears to be dead. Doesn't have life in it anymore. Doesn't hold a charge. Doesn't charge when slotted into the phone. Nothing

No. Leave it in? Without charging? Or just leaving it in with charge?

I would use a paperclip and short all the terminals on the battery together.
Then stick it in the phone and plug it into a wall charger, not a computer USB port, and see what happens.

You mean use a paperclip to scrape the terminals on the battery.?

I leave it plugged. It keeps restarting. Red light on then off then shows BlackBerry. Then red off
    How do I short circuit?

Paperclip. Touch one end to one battery terminal and the other end to another. Just move the paperclip from onto different terminals until you think you have short circuited all of them. Then put it in your phone and see if it charges up.
