    Fellow BlackBerrians,

I have an issue with my Z10. I was encrypting my device and media card and it required me to create a password (so i did). Now I decided to decrypt them and everything stuck. I do not want this decrypt anymore--too much hassle! Unfortunately, now I have have to always put in a password to unlock my phone. The settings will not let me turn off the password--I believe because the decryption is stuck.

If I back up my device, wipe it, and restore it will that solve the problem. Or, will that save the password issue, only to find that I am in the same position. Help please!!

    Thanks in advance everyone!!

Wait....you have to put in a password to unlock your phone. Turn it off in settings. Have you done that?

Tried it. It won't allow me to. I believe it started with the decrypting process. It currently shows it is still decrypting (stuck)

How long did it take to encrypt and what makes you think it is stuck?

Took me roughly an hour at first. Tried to decrypt and for the couple of days since this happened, the progress bar has been in the same spot. Prompting me to "pause or cancel"

When you put your password I assume you can retrieve your files and see them just fine?
I recommend you plug the device in to your computer and make a copy of the SD card - can you do that?

Perhaps after that, reboot the phone and see what happens with the decryption process?

I have rebooted it and nothing happens. It still requires a password after 30 minutes to access my phone

I would suggest this. Cancel decrypt. Turn off all radios. Start decryption again and leave it alone even if it takes a long time. You didn't say how much is on your card so I won't try to guess how long it will take to decrypt.

It stays in the same spot. No movement. When I cancel, it just gives me the option to encrypt or continue
