Hello everyone,

I've been a proud Z10 user since basically day one on AT&T in the US, and there's one thing about the phone that has been bothering me ever since I got it: the emoticons or "smileys."

I hate them. On my Tour I always had those disabled and I've always preferred to see nothing but text. Is there a way to get my Z10 to not show emoticon images in SMS messages and the like on my phone?

But as for you question, are your referring to the ones that get sent to you? I don't know if there is a way to disable them

Basically all the emoticons. I've always had a dislike for them. When I do get them I prefer to just see the text. So yeah, emoticons that get sent to me would probably be the only ones I have control over seeing.

I haven't found any options to disable their appearance.

Please try:
Settings + Language and Input + Prediction and Correction + Word Substitution
Turn Word Substitution OFF
Most people can get by with the regular spell check. This area is great for symbol/word shortcuts, but not necessary for auto-correct.
