I've only ever seen this ability on corporate email systems, not pop or smtp email.

Yes, UnSend Email is now possible on Z10.

It is currently only available for ActiveSync account. We are working on making it available for IMAP and POP3 as well.

UnSend is an interesting product, and may be useful for some.

The fact is that once an email leaves the local environment you can't recall it. This feature is available on some corporate group ware systems, but even those often can't fully recall messages, as Oliver North famously discovered.

Worse, the SMTP protocol (the way the internet handles email) does not provide for email recall. Once my SMTP server (run by my ISP, or by me) receives an email it will be delivered to all the email applications I have set up on that account, (BlackBerry, iPad, PC at home, PC at work, etc). Just like physical mail, once it is in the post office mail box it is out of your control.

Currently, it only works with Active-sync accounts (i.e., outlook, hotmail). We are working towards making it work with IMAP/POP3.

Please note that, out UnSend Email app acts/intercept the emails before it goes out of your BlackBerry device. Thus, the user has not received the email yet.

Unsend just delays sanding the email, giving you time to recognise your mistake, regret your phrasing, etc. But once that delay has expired the email is on its way. Some people may find it useful.
