    I went through this myself (from 9900), and it was so painful, I gave up and did it manually, and lost all of my text messages! Since I was on corporate network, I got my addressbook, email and Calendar over the air with no issues, but anything on device I did manually.

    Any easy way to do this on my GF's phone (from 9780 to Q10)?

    Yes, but how to best get that working? First backup 9700 on Blackberry Desktop Software? or just hook it up to Link and then the Z10?

    Don't use protect!!

    Use BlackBerry Link. After all the updates it works wonderfully

    The easiest way? Install Intouch App on 9780 and Z10 and you are done.
