Does Z10 support Mobile networks with 4 G?
I read some where that it does , but don't remember how ...

    How to activate it ?
in the network selection mood , there is no 4G but either 3G or 2G or both...

Maybe you have the non-4G model. Check your owners manual

Does your network support LTE? If it doesn't, that would explain why you don't have it as an option.

Do you have an LTE plan? Some networks charge a premium for LTE access.

It may also be your wireless provider. Some require a data plan specifically for 4G.

    Go to Settings>About>Hardware.

Which model do you see? It's STL100-X. What does yours say? The "X" should be a number between 1 and 4.

Means you have got the Non-LTE model. That is the model we have here in India. It's 3G only model.

Just a question, this is a hardware option? Or is this a software option?

The reason I ask, Is I keep reading that others want a foreign sim card to change the STL - 100 - 1 to STL - 2

    I'm confused...

If you mean 4G = LTE then yes or if you mean 4G = 3.5G (like some Canadian carriers claimed based on speeds) then yes also.

    India has LTE? Or 3.5G?

The St100-1 is sold in a lot of markets. Some carriers like Vodafone UK had pushed the update earlier than Indian carriers. So some of us wanted that.
    It's not a software version, it's a hardware version.
Some people in India also got their phones from UK and since they got the 100-2 model, the Indian carriers don't push the update to them. That's why they need a sim from UK.

India has 3g. LTE is being tested in some cities at the moment.

I found this, i might help!

    Model STL100-1 Networks:

    21Mbps HSPA+
    Quad-Band HSPA+ 1, 2, 5/6, 8 (850/900/1900/2100 MHz)
    Quad Band EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)

These bands matches perfectly with our local wireless mobile networks. Though we still face huge problems with 3G fluctuations, the phone manages to hold HSPA+ reception pretty well. The following models are fit for countries with 4G networks. We request to go through the specs before buying a Z10 from abroad.

    * Model number can be found in Settings > About page
    Model STL100-002 Networks:

    Quad Band LTE 3, 7, 8, 20 (1800/2600/900/700 MHz)
    Tri Band HSPA+ 1, 5/6, 8 (2100/850/900 MHz)
    Quad Band EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)

    Model STL100-003 Networks:

    Quad Band LTE 2, 5, 4, 17 (700/850/1900/1700 MHz)
    Tri Band HSPA+ 1, 2, 5/6 (2100/850/1900 MHz)
    Quad Band EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)

    Model STL-004 Networks:

    LTE Band-13 (700MHz)
CDMA Cell-Band and PCS Band (850/1900 MHz)
    WCDMA Band-1 and Band-8 (2100/900 MHz)
    GSM/EDGE Quad Bands (850/900/1900/1800 MHz)

The STL100-003 can support HSPA+ Band 4 (AWS) if the carrier supports it.

There is no phone in this world that you can buy and is 4G capable.

    Choose one of below:
    EVDO (2G)
    EDGE (3G)
    HSPA+ (3G)
    LTE (3G)

4G is coming in Russia this summer, other than that, there's no 4G in no other country in the world. Even if your phone says 4G (it's really HSPA+). Even if your company says it's 4G it's not. Unless your service provider is called Yota and you live in Moscow you don't have 4G. Period

Z10 is EVDO, EDGE, HSPA+ and LTE capable. Hope that answers your question.

What network are you with and what model do you gave of the z10.

I never known a z10 not to have 4g and or 4g LTE as long as the network provider offers this service you will have it.
