    It's not hidden - it's right under settings>>Language and Input>>Text Input>>Spell Check

There are a lot of things you can do to enhance the spell check as well if you look at that screen.

The built in spell check is not the same as check spelling before send option. The more I use the device for email the more I'm reminded the OS is just not ready for prime time.

Does anybody know if the Spell Check on send feature will ever be added back to the Blackberry? It is my #1 irritant associated to moving from the 9900 to the Q10.

Since BB10 does spell checking on the fly I don't think it will.

Yes the spell check feature is automatic as you type your email.
Even if you intentionally misspell words, those words should be underlined with a red highlight.
This provides an opportunity to tap on each of those words where the device interpreted correction options will show.
It also provides the opportunity to add those same words to the dictionary if you intentionally want to use them in the future.

But as far as having the same type of functionality and behavior as BBOS, I don't think it will happen.
Some would consider that a step backwards.
