    I do.

    What am I doing wrong?

I can get it to pop up but then I have huge trouble moving it to where I want it to be. Plus I can't see what's under my finger at the time so I find it impossible to decide where it's going!

    Meh.

What OS version are you using? on 10.1, it got much better, you can move it with your finger further away, so that you can see it. Also when you hold it to fine tune your selection, it doesn't want to jump on you anymore.

If you tap the circle on the right it will move one space to the right, tap the circle on the left one space left same up and down.

Ha! Did not realize that. That does help, thanks dude.

I'm with the OP, it's not as smooth as it could be. Due to the nature of my job, i've heavily used all of the Big 4. iOS, Android, WP8 and BB10 and I'm not trying to start anything, but the iOS method blows everybody out of the water. Everybody else just needs to admit it and copy it. It's the only thing I really like about iOS.

Make sure you are not trying to drag it. Tap inside the circle, near the side closest to the direction you want it to go. The bubble will move one space in that direction. So, if you tap near the bottom of the circle, it will go down to the next line.

On 10.0 it was not great but the circle tap improvement in 10.1 makes it very easy and convenient to use.

Circle tap was on os 10.0 as well but 10.1 did massively improve the cursor

Was it? I never realised it and dragging the circle one character was often near impossible.

I only found out about the tap as it gives you feedback (the blue marker) on 10.1 when you tap it.

I think BB10's method is best. When I use Android ports, I'm reminded just how much I hated those arrows and how much more difficult it is to hold the tiny arrow compared to anywhere in the circle. You also can't do the precise 'tap once' method on those platforms either. Arrow or large circle? Large circle please.

Yeah I found it by accident on 10.0 but it was there.
The whole process is fiddly tbh

Try using it on a text close to the side of the screens and you get hell.

I got quite adept at using the circle in 10.0 but 10.1 definitely improved the experience further. The caps lock delete feature is also really neat.

The predictive typing is still the best. Night and day compared to my wife's iPhone.

Couldn't agree more. Now bit works like a charm!!! I really like how the circle thingy works. Make an editing a breeze... unless you're right close to the edge. so in just edit one orb2 characters in from the edge and it works just as well.

In 10.1 all you have to do is grab the opposite side of the circle and move it to the end of the text. One and done.

Nope just tap where you want to to be or close to it and then hold it down with your finger and slide it over to where you wanted it.

This is same in ios and android devices that use such a thing.

As per my one-handed typing post...

Would like to be able to use a kb gesture to jump back or forward a word at a time without deleting by making a U or n hump gesture across the keyboard. Maybe m or w shaped to go back / forwards a sentence. This would be a bit of a z10 special.

The circle thing has no snap-to-grid, so it's a bit different.
