I heard it could do that but I have no idea how to enable it.

Go into settings - storage and access then enable access using Wifi. It will then ask you to set a password.

You can then click on identification on network to set the the user name and work group.

Let me know if you need help setting up ES file explorer or Ghost Commander.

I believe this uses the SMB protocol so any Windows computer will see it right away as well

OK so open ES then swipe to the right. Just make sure it says LAN at the top. The hit the new button on the bottom.

Then fill in the server details that were displayed when you setup the device identity.

Then just hit okay. Should connect and be ready to browse after that.

Alternatively, for the more adventurous, start a web server. Python is built in to bb10, so just start a shell (bgshell from BlackBerry world), and type:

    cd your_directory
    python-3.2 -m http.server

Obviously replace your_directory with the location you want to share.

You can then use a browser to see/download your files

EDIT: sorry, should have mentioned that both machines must be on the same net. You could use 3G/4G, then everyone is on the same net , or your home/work wifi. The usual firewall restrictions apply.....

PS. I use this if I want to transfer to my Haiku box, as it can't easily mount smb shares. It also works for pretty much any device with a web browser (eg. fruit based phones).
