I keep getting this notification that my device memory is almost full but it's not...

I've attached a picture of the msg. As u can see the phone keeps spamming me with it every 10mins or so sometimes even every 2 mins

And I've also attached a picture of the "free space" available on my phone

Anyone know the solution or why it's doing this?

Are u sure, cuz that's pretty ridiculous. 945mgb is a lot of space as far as I'm concerned..

And r u saying that if I use more than 15/16gigs of space available on my phone I have to deal with this constant spam...

    That's can't be right

I'm assuming you haven't found a solution to stopping it?

945 mb of 16000 mb is only .057% left. 1/2 of 1% is very little. you are almost out of space....... you can delete some items and reload if you need them. just don't delete permanently.

Ya I know I can delete stuff obvs, it's not a relative concept tho, do u have any idea the things u can do with 945mbs.

That's over 230 photos if every photo is 3-4mbs

Whatever I don't even mind that it gives me the warning why the hell is it spamming me every 5mins tho

I don't think that saving a photo, I think the issue is with updates. I'm not 100% sure but I think it does need more than a GB because of future OS updates. If you think about it an OS update down load can be between 4-600MB. Then the phone has to expand the compressed data and it probably doesn't directly over write every file.

Well, you can also add an sd card to hold some of your data like photos or music or videos. Apps must only be stored in internal memory.

I don't know if there's some setting to warn of low space that can be turned off. Ghost Commander can alter notifications but I've not looked if it can alter such a system warning.

I wish I could help more but, I don't think it's how much you have left as much as the % that is left. I had the same issue with my mac and it wouldn't run as well until I left more space.

I'm just thinking it's that way with all devices.

The notices want you to clean it up most likely because it knows your getting towards trouble.

actually almost 6% is still available with 945MB free. That's enough for 2 quite huge apps or a lotta other stuff, and "should" be plenty for the OS to deal with temporary files.

I'd call "almost full" at more like only 250 MB free. Wish we could tune the notification. It's driving me nuts too, and I have almost 1GB free on-phone.

This could be an issue if you torrent. Even if the torrent file hasn't downloaded yet, it's already reserved the space for that file.

Sorry, bad math. Apple tells me I need 20% on my computer to make it run correctly.....might be a bad comparison but the only one I can offer.

This notification is driving me crazy as well. I have 1.4 GB free in device storage.

Of course, that's less than 10% free, but do I really have to maintain 1.4GB free space? Really? If that's the case, then why didn't they advertise the phone as coming with 14.5 GB of storage?

The other problem is that the notification doesn't indicate how much space is remaining - you have to go into device storage to find that out.

Which means the real problem with this notification is that I will probably ignore it even when my storage is actually low.
