The cover can be changed from BB and a Battery as well, if the phone is OK then why not call BB.

    Or

Have fedex replace the damn thing and you wait weeks and weeks and weeks for a replacement.

I hope you actually when accepted the device and box, you reported it damaged to the courier guy who dropped it off or at the depot if you picked it up, I sure as hell would of never accepted it and then would of reported it damaged by the courier to the courier.

    Good Luck.

I would never have accepted it much less opened it. If FedEx damaged it, they owe you a new phone.

Nice to see It still works despite the damage.

This went through my head as well, but he shouldn't have to do that tbh, plus we're not sure if any small electronics were damaged inside at the point of impact that could gradually worsen over time.

Submit a claim to them with pictures ASAP. I would be royally pissed off if they sent it to me in that condition.

Are retailers that different in the UK?
In the US, MOST reputable stores/ vendors would replace the phone immediately and take care of the claim paperwork on their end. They owe you a product in new, working condition when it arrives at your door. Similar shipping nightmares have happened to me a few times throughout the years.

FedEx is the worst at handling people's packages. You should see some youtube videos. A guy throws a monitor over the fence.

Return it. Don't listen to those telling you to simply change the backplate and battery because later on, every bug or fault you find on your phone, you'll wonder if it was due to the damage.

The retailer owes you a new phone and must resolve this for you. You shouldn't have to chase down the issue with fedex

for a courier the sender of the package has the contract so it is supposed to be the seller of the item that refunds the buyer or sends a replacement after receiving the item back and dealing with a claim from the courier themselves. Clove might be refused their claim with the courier if Fedex is anything like hermes and collect plus (two other courier companies i use a lot) youre supposed to wrap a delicate package so that you can drop it 10 feet without the contents breaking. that still doesnt mean clove can refuse to refund the buyer though

That's harsh. If any of those two refuse to help you out, file a chargeback with your Credit Card company and I'm sure they will be able to help you out.

If FedEx marked their own documentation that the parcel was damaged during transit, they should be replacing. It doesn't sound like a situation where they are trying to say they didn't do it, which is a good thing.

Amazing the battery isn't leaking though...

I've been babying mine like crazy, having kept it in a case and screen protector since minute 1! Little did I know I was going to such lengths to protect a tank!

I hope that you're returning that Z10 for a new one and maybe even possibly sending this one back with a strongly worded letter to whomever was involved in this attempted Z10 murder.
